An anonymous gift, sunken footprints in wet sand, the residue of a picnic, a way-of life abandoned in escape, the resonance of a stolen kiss, or the marks one leaves upon the world. Utilizing mask, shadows, puppetry and objects, “What I Leave Behind” is a new, visually surreal performance for adult audiences, exploring the themes of departure, displacement, absence, legacy and hope.
"Tim Denton and Annie Forbes combine Baal mask, shadow puppetry and props to create a beautiful and delicate piece about what the negative impact domestic violence can have on a child. While running away might seem like the answer, the problems will remain until, like a house on fire, they are razed to the ground and destroyed forever." - Review by Melynda von Wayward (Toorak Times, 2013).
